The Disaster Relief and Recovery Program at the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies helps communities throughout Latin America and Asia prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.
By seeking to support people affected by disasters that otherwise receive little attention, MACP and its grantees reduce suffering, prevent the loss of life, and improve self-reliance.
We are providing strategy, impact measurement and learning services to support ongoing assessments of what works, how and why, and inform strategic adaptation for the programme.
Our role
In partnership with Integrated Risk Management Associates, Itad is delivering ongoing, real-time strategy, impact measurement, and learning services to MACP and its grantees.
We regularly collect and use data on disaster risk governance in communities across the world to assess program effectiveness, produce on-demand research studies and impact reports. We also engage the client and grantees in participatory sensemaking and cross-context learning reviews on a regular basis.
Outcomes and impact
Our work with MACP has delivered countless evidence-based strategic adaptations, as grantees and the foundation have learned about and responded to emerging challenges, threats, and opportunities in and across local contexts.
