Policy and advocacy
Policy change is complex. Understanding the factors that affect decision-making at the highest level is crucial to being able to influence change. This is especially important in a world of unpredictable political turmoil. We support our partners to unpick the stories behind policy decisions and understand the role they have played.
From making sure there is enough funding to support the fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis, to protecting high standards for the definition of overseas development assistance, to enshrining access to family planning information and methods in law across the world, the spectrum of issues in need of advocacy and policy change is broad. We work across this spectrum support our partners to understand their role in supporting policy change and identify their best role in the changing landscape ahead.
Through a series of portfolio evaluations, we have refined an approach to evaluating advocacy efforts that provides our partners with compelling, evidence-based stories of their contribution to change.
