Project

Rural development advisory team for the Swedish International Development Agency in Vietnam

Sida appointed Itad as professional advisers to strengthen the quality of follow-up on their rural development portfolio.

23/03/2006

Sweden was the first western government to offer development support to the Vietnam Government, starting in 1969.

As one of the major bilateral donors, Sida had established a major programme of bilateral and joint funding support to rural development covering the period of 2006-09. Sida appointed Itad as professional advisors to strengthen the quality of follow-up on their rural development portfolio.

Our role

We advised Sida on programme design, structure and performance and the quality of results. We also advised on how rural development programmes had contributed to Sweden’s policy priorities with a particular emphasis on long-term reduction of poverty, a rights-based approach to development, and improved donor coordination and harmonisation. We provided a wide range of services, from the facilitation of project design and management processes such as annual reviews, through participation in joint donor-government review missions, to the conduct of major project evaluations.
