Collaborations for climate justice
How are we working with partners globally to help them address and respond to the effects of climate change?
The impact of climate change is present in all areas of our work. To effectively respond to the climate emergency, a systematic integration of climate considerations is needed across the development sector.
Climate change is the most pressing global challenge of our time, threatening the lives and livelihoods of billions of people. It affects poor and marginalised communities first and hardest – the very people our work seeks to help. The consequences of extreme weather and global warming, such as decreased access to food, water and public services, have been exacerbated by Covid-19. We must act now.
Our commitment to responding to the climate challenge is twofold:
We work with partners globally to help them address and respond to the effects of climate change.
By strengthening our partners’ understanding of the impacts of the climate crisis on their programmes and their options to transition to more sustainable ways of working, we are consistently helping them to increase their impact. By the end of 2023, we aim to apply a climate and sustainability lens to all of our projects.
We pursue green strategies throughout our operations.
Being green is a cornerstone of our business and a defining company strength. Through our pro-environment policies, culture, and service delivery we are constantly striving to improve the environmental impact of our work for people and planet.
