Michael Moses

Deputy Director

Michael Moses is Deputy Director at Itad and leads the philanthropy support team, providing strategy and learning support to help Foundations address systemic issues and drive long-term change.

Michael has over 15 years of experience working at the intersection of strategy, learning, and evaluation in the social impact sector. He specializes in applying theories of change and systems thinking to support collaborative, participatory learning and adaptive management in complex systems.

A skilled emergent learning practitioner, Michael has deep expertise in equity-focused evaluation methods and has written and spoken extensively on translating these approaches into practice to drive action, learning, and impact.

Michael has partnered with many philanthropic organizations—including the MacArthur Foundation, Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, the Open Society Foundations, and the Gates Foundation—as well as with the U.S. Department of State, USAID, FCDO, and a range of nonprofit and government actors worldwide.

Before joining Itad, he led the philanthropy practice at EnCompass and previously oversaw strategic learning initiatives at DAI, supporting global teams in navigating complex challenges through tailored strategy and evaluation approaches. Earlier in his career, he served as Managing Director for Programs and Learning at Global Integrity, where he led teams delivering strategy, learning, research, and evaluation services to social impact organizations around the world.
