Alex Cornelius is a Senior Consultant at Itad. His work focuses on the interactions between social protection, climate change and nutrition security, primarily across the Sahel and South Asia.
As an experienced qualitative researcher, Alex is well-versed in the use of non-experimental impact evaluation, particularly contribution analysis. He has considerable experience in theory-based mixed methods impact evaluation and process evaluation.
Alex has designed, managed and implemented large and complex evaluations for a range of clients including DFID, the World Bank and UNICEF.
Most recently, Alex concluded a Sahel-wide evaluation of an adaptive social protection system-building intervention. His work was used extensively for course correction and the design of the subsequent programme. He has additionally contributed to the literature having authored a number of papers and blogs on the subject.
