Learning from mapping MLE capacity for advocacy

This learning paper pulls together our thinking and provides simple lessons for MEL partners and funders on how to support advocacy grantees to self-assess MEL capacities in their organisations.

Itad has a two-year contract to provide tailored capacity building support in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) for six grantee advocacy organisations which are focusing on the Global Fund for Aids, Tuberculosis, and Malaria replenishment.

At the start of the project, we developed a bespoke framework for advocacy grantees to self-assess MEL capacities in their organisations. Mid-way through the work, our team paused to reflect on how that framework has played out in practice and what we have learnt along the way about developing MEL capacity in advocacy grantees.
