How to track and report on value for money: an interactive toolkit

Step-by-step toolkit to track and report on programme value for money (VfM), originally created for UK Integrated Security Fund (ISF) Africa programme teams.

This toolkit was developed by Itad in support of the UK Government’s Integrated Security Fund (ISF) Africa portfolio. We have published an external-facing version as we believe the approaches and tools presented here will be of benefit to a wide range of organisations and teams, including:

  • Portfolio, programme and project teams working in a government department, philanthropric or non-governmental organisation.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) professionals advising portfolio and programme teams.

The toolkit presents a practical step-by-step guide to help programme and project teams understand how to put in place systems and tools to track and report on VfM throughout the programme cycle, and to generate and use VfM evidence to inform learning and adaptation.
