Jon Bennett and David Fleming presented Itad’s synthesis report of Finland’s global support to peace & development in fragile states, focusing on case studies in Afghanistan, Palestine, Western Balkans and Ethiopia. The presentation included a summary of the main evaluation findings as well as recommendations for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in implementing the Finnish Government’s recently adopted guidelines for development policy and development cooperation in fragile states. The presentation was opened by Director General of the Department for Development Policy Pekka Puustinen and Director of Development Evaluations Jyrki Pulkkinen.
