Itad announces new Chair of the Board

Itad marks a moment of transition, with thanks for past leadership and a warm welcome to our new Chair.

15/05/2026

After nearly ten years as Chair of Itad’s Board of Directors, Michael Jary CBE will step down on 1 June 2026. The transition reflects good governance and the value of periodically refreshing board leadership as Itad evolves and strengthens its support to clients tackling complex challenges through evidence, learning and strategy.

Thanking Michael Jary for a decade of leadership

During his tenure, Michael has provided thoughtful, calm and generous leadership, guiding Itad through a period of significant growth and change. This has included the expansion of the organisation to more than 100 staff, the establishment of offices in the United States and East Africa, strengthening our service offering to philanthropy, and most recently, our move into serving UK focused clients. Michael’s leadership has also helped steer the organisation through major external challenges, including the Covid‑19 pandemic and profound shifts in the aid landscape – all while strengthening Itad’s ability to support clients in navigating complexity and change.

Rob Lloyd, Itad’s Managing Partner said:
“Throughout, Michael has been a trusted champion of Itad’s values, bringing clarity, perspective and sound judgement to the Board. We are sincerely grateful for his contribution and longstanding commitment to Itad.”

Michael Jary said:
“It has been a privilege to chair Itad over the past decade and to see the organisation grow in scale, reach and impact while staying true to its aim for a more equitable, sustainable, and secure world. I am grateful to Rob, the Board and colleagues across Itad for their commitment and partnership, and I am delighted to hand over to Elizabetta as Itad enters its next chapter.”

Welcoming Elizabetta Camilleri as the new Chair

From 1 June, Elizabetta Camilleri will take up the role of Chair of the Itad Board. We are delighted to welcome Elizabetta, who brings extensive experience as a Chair, non‑executive director and founder, with a strong track record in technology‑enabled, people‑centred and mission‑driven organisations. She has a particular interest in how strategy and learning from evidence can strengthen organisations and increase impact. Elizabetta is very much looking forward to working closely with Itad’s Partnership, Board, Executive Committee and colleagues across the UK, the US and East Africa.

On her appointment, Elizabetta Camilleri said:
“I am delighted to be joining Itad, an organisation widely recognised for its work helping partners navigate complex challenges and deliver meaningful change. I look forward to working closely with the Partnership, Board and colleagues to build on Itad’s strengths, drive growth, expand our reach, and continue supporting clients around the world.”

We warmly welcome Elizabetta to her new role and look forward to this next chapter for Itad.
