Catharine Russell is the Regional Director for Itad in East Africa, based in Kenya.
She has over 15 years of experience supporting governments, multilaterals and philanthropies to generate evidence and insights to inform decision-making and achieve results. She brings strong experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning, particularly on complexity‑aware evaluation, systems thinking, and locally led learning. Much of this work has included supporting organisations in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Thematically, her work spans stabilisation, resilience, inclusive growth, gender and social inclusion.
Prior to joining Itad Catharine was the East Africa Regional Director at Altai Consulting, where she led a regional team delivering independent monitoring, evaluation and learning support on migration, inclusive growth, environment and climate change, peacebuilding and stabilisation.
