Real-time MEL for the Humanitarian Global Services Programme

The Humanitarian Global Services (HGS) Programme aims to improve the overall performance (quality, delivery and value-for-money of services delivered) of a range of highly specialised service providers involved in the humanitarian sector, such as security management, needs analysis and capacity-building, to improve their service delivery to vulnerable groups.

10/12/2020

Launched by DFID, now FCDO, in May 2018, HGS is a global £7m programme aimed at improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of humanitarian responses through early warning, risk analysis and improved coordination of these specialist humanitarian partners, in line with humanitarian reform objectives laid out in the Grand Bargain.

Our role

Itad is supporting institutional learning and adaptive programming by the HGS partners under the MEL component of HGS. This centres mainly on helping them to develop their own MEL capabilities to inform ongoing improvements in the management and operation of HGS member agencies.

The MEL component also creates opportunities for joint learning activities to address MEL issues and challenges that are prevalent across the HGS community.

As a result of the MEL component, HGS member agencies will have developed their own dedicated MEL capabilities, and be in a position to generate their own knowledge for use in informing their own planning, programming and policy-making.
