Project

Rebuilding Lives of War-Affected Children and Young People in Casamance

Itad conducted an end of project evaluation, which assessed the direct impact of this project to improve the lives of children and youth affected by war.

23/12/2010

Youth Care International (Y CARE) and YMCA work in the Casamance Region of Senegal to improve the lives of children and youth affected by war.

This project focuses, in particular, on improving community access to basic services, youth access to education and skills development, promoting the active participation of youth in health education, and improving the institutional capacity of Y CARE and YMCA.

Our role

We conducted an end-of-project evaluation, which assessed the direct impact of the project on families and communities, and recommended how Senegal YMCA could implement future work in the region aimed at disadvantaged youth. We also shared the knowledge gained from this evaluation with other INGOs and community-based organisations working with young people in Senegal and other societies affected by conflict.
