A focus in this £56 million programme is to make communities and districts open defecation-free, reaching 3.75 million people with first-time access to household sanitation. This is incentivized through a small payment-by-results component.
Itad, along with our partners Iwel and Aguaconsult, provide third party monitoring support to DFID. This includes periodic assessments of UNICEF’s monitoring systems, sustainability checks and outcome surveys used by UNICEF to report project results to DFID, follow up monitoring of project activities and results and project-related advice to DFID.
