Development & Partnerships Lead (Managing Associate) We are seeking an experienced business development professional to join our dynamic and growing team. Although the role can be fully remote in the USA, we have a preference to the candidate being based in DC-Baltimore area. In this role, you will take ownership of development activities and drive strategic growth for Itad US. This is a unique opportunity to elevate Itad to the next level as we continue to expand our footprint with US Government clients, particularly USAID. Itad US has grown rapidly in the past three years, becoming a trusted partner to USAID flagship programs in areas such as open innovation, global health security, and data analytics. We have also secured subcontracting roles on key monitoring and evaluation platforms, supporting USAID in Nepal and across West Africa. This role provides the opportunity to build on this success by targeting and securing prime awards and further accelerating our growth trajectory. The Candidate You are a self-motivated business development leader with a proven track record in building and managing a pipeline of opportunities, particularly in USAID-funded programs. With a depth of experience and strong connections in the international development sector, you will play a key role in shaping Itad US's strategic direction. Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to cultivate and manage relationships are essential, as you will collaborate with colleagues across the US and UK to achieve Itad’s growth goals. Qualifications 8+ years’ experience in business development for USAID-funded programs. Proven success in managing bids for USAID, other US Government donors, INGOs, and the World Bank. Deep understanding of the USAID landscape and key sectoral areas, including monitoring and evaluation, data and technology, innovation, and sectors relevant to Itad’s practice areas. Demonstrated ability to drive strategic growth by identifying new opportunities in collaboration with Itad leadership. Experience leading business development activities, including proposal management, opportunity identification, consortium building, partner outreach, personnel recruitment, compliance, cost proposals, and technical development. Strong interpersonal skills, with experience managing relationships with clients, partners, and teams across multiple time zones and cultures. The Role The primary responsibility of this position is to drive new business development opportunities with US Government clients, particularly USAID, the Department of State, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Approximately 80% of your time will be focused on identifying and pursuing new opportunities, leading proposal efforts, and developing partnerships to secure contracts aligned with Itad’s strategic objectives. In addition to new business development, you will support ongoing business development efforts, including buy-in mechanisms and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, which may account for 10-20% of your role. As part of a small, dynamic, and fast-growing team, there will also be opportunities to engage in broader operations and project management activities. Key Responsibilities Lead proposal processes, from gathering business intelligence on upcoming bids to leading capture efforts and managing proposal development as a prime or sub-contractor. Lead and collaborate with the Business Development team on the development, drafting, and finalization of technical and cost proposals, with input from technical and operations staff. Guide capture and proposal development efforts, including partner selection and communication with prime contractors and partner organizations. Work closely with Itad’s BD team throughout each step of the BD process to ensure collaboration and effective practices. Manage and maintain Itad’s BD pipeline and knowledge management system. Identify and track new opportunities in line with Itad’s strategic growth plan. Contribute to the company's business development strategy. Cultivate and expand relationships with partners and public and private-sector clients. Maintain a broad understanding of trends and donor priorities in international development by participating in industry events, pre-solicitation meetings, business forecast calls, and internal strategy meetings with Itad’s partners. Compensation & Benefits The salary for this role is between USD $130-160K, depending on experience. We also offer 20 days of paid holiday, 10 days of paid sick leave, a 401K, and healthcare.
