Kelsy Nelson joined Itad as a Project Officer in 2012 and became a Consultant in 2014.
Kelsy manages and conducts qualitative research on projects within Itad’s gender, social protection and livelihoods theme – including multi-year evaluations of programmes in the areas of gender, social inclusion, youth and adolescent girls. She specialises in contributing to the gender and equity components of evaluations and verification, including case studies, data analysis and programme design. She worked on the Girl Hub Global Evaluation, Research and Learning where she was co-lead on the Nigeria case study, including creating and implementing qualitative survey instruments as well as assisting in the development of context-mechanism-outcome configurations for realist analysis. She has also been directly involved in delivering support services to female survivors of sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse and is highly trained in issues surrounding VAWG.
Kelsy has an academic specialisation in gender-based violence in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda and received her MA in Conflict, Security, and Development from the University of Sussex.
