Core Welfare Indicators Questionnaire Survey Costing Template, World Bank
2002; United Kingdom; World Bank
Itad worked closely with the World Bank throughout the development of the Core Welfare Indicators Questionnaire (CWIQ) and provided the TA for pilot surveys in Kenya and Ghana.
The survey in Tanzania was piloted in the context of a Tanzania Social Action Fund and the Task Force on Poverty and Welfare Indicators, set up under the auspices of the Poverty Eradication Unit in the Vice President’s office. The survey was a single visit short duration interview, and uses scanning technology for rapid data capture.
The CWIQ was developed as a household survey to measure the effectiveness of the delivery of social services to different population groups. Specific indicators measured are access, utilisation and satisfaction with core social and economic services.Image © World Bank. Photo Credit: Scott Wallace.
