Our global reliance on water resources - for food production, drinking, sanitation, domestic uses, power generation, environmental requirements, and for leisure activities keeps water focussed at the centre of global attention.

Water resources face pressure from increasing economic activity, forcing nations to over-exploit their water reserves and the surrounding natural environment. We are committed to integrated water resource management principles, moving away from reliance on either the sectoral or cross-sectoral approach, in favour of a participatory multi-faceted management perspective for all interested in water resources. These major challenges need to be faced. Our approach is to improve decision-making, work to improve dispute arbitration and inter-sectoral conflict, and reduce and improve understanding in areas facing social, economic, ecosystem and political tension.
