Institutional appraisal is concerned with determining whether an organisation is fit for purpose, and whether policy or institutional changes are required to better enable the organisation to achieve its objectives.
ITAD regularly undertakes institutional evaluations (e.g. UNAIDS, IFAD, European Training Foundation, Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation) in which Institutional Appraisal is an important tool.
Our approach is participatory and systems-based, recognising that effective change must be led from within, but that organisations behave rationally in response to the internal and external incentives they face.
