As a major partner in consortia led by GRM International and HTSPE, ITAD will play a significant role in delivering DFID’s new State-level programmes in Nigeria: SPARC and SAVI. Both programmes share a common goal: to support the more efficient and effective use of Nigeria’s own resources to achieve the Millennium Development Goals through improvements in government accountability. Initially, support will be provided in five States (Enugu, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano and Lagos), this will increase to seven later in the programme.

SPARC - State Partnership for Accountability Responsiveness and Capability – will focus on three main areas: Policy; Public Financial Management and Civil Service Reform; and Strengthening Federal Government’s support, and incentives, for better performance in state level governments strengthened. SAVI – State Accountability and Voice Initiative - will focus on: Advocacy Projects; Monitoring, Research and Policy Analysis; and strengthening the functioning of State Houses of Assembly. With a combined budget of almost GBP 80 million, the programmes will run for six years.
