Corrie has a wide range of experience from setting up, implementing and managing projects, designing monitoring systems and conducting evaluations of programmes and institutions. Skilled in setting up systems for collecting, reviewing, analysing, presenting and communicating information she is a thorough researcher and data analyst. A versatile project manager which is complemented by an understanding of challenges faced on the ground, gained from 8 years experience of working in long term positions in Africa. Since February 2008 consultancy work has been done alongside her responsibilities in the company as the Business Development Manager. She is also currently the Project Manager for the Second Independent Evaluation of UNAIDS.

AES Nile Power
  AES Nile Power is a subsidiary of AES Corporation, an international power company. AES Nile Power was developing a US $500 million project to construct a 250MW dam on the River Nile, which involved the compensation and resettlement of local communities from eight villages. Responsibilities included: Supported the designed survey and valuation of affected land, the socio economic survey of affected households and the resettlement action plan; managing a team of community information officers, ensuring the flow of information between the community and the company; supervising the process for assessing the impact of the project on sites of traditional cultural value; managing contracts for specialised community work (legal training, PRA studies, business training); administrating an office of 80 people.

  GNLD is an international direct marketing company dealing with homecare, healthcare and personal care products. Uganda has a Distributor Service Centre (DSC), answerable to a South African Head Office. Responsibilities included: setting up the Ugandan DSC, training staff and developing a service culture, designing and managing systems to control stock. Annual sales amounted to over US $2 million. Received an award for excellent performance for the DSC in 1998

Project Experience
2007 - 2008 Ongoing Evaluation of the Department for International Development's Country Programmes 2007-2008 (DFID, Moldova, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Zambia, CASCM, Afghanistan)
Survey designer & data analyst
  Country Programme Evaluation (CPE) for DFID of its country programmes assessing DFIDs strategy choices and the effectiveness of its strategy implementation. Primary point of contact with DFIDs Evaluation Department for the CPE, including seminars presenting the findings.
  Supporting the evaluation team in conducting surveys and analysing data. For the CASCM region assessing administration costs of operating country and regional programmes. For the Pakistan study conducted an assessment of DFID's media presence in terms of critical analsyis of DFIDs work.
2008 - Ongoing Second Independent Evaluation of UNAIDS (UNAIDS, UK based)
Project Manager
  This Second Independent Evaluation will covers a period (2002-2008) during which the AIDS epidemic, the global response to it, and UN organisational reform efforts, have considerably changed UNAIDS environmental contexts. Established in 1996, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) supports and coordinates the efforts of ten cosponsoring UN organizations (ILO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, UNESCO, WHO, World Bank, UNHCR, UNODC and WFP), and works with a wide range of other private and public partners in the global response to AIDS. The purpose of the Second Independent Evaluation is to assess the efficacy, effectiveness and outcomes of UNAIDS at the global, regional and country levels. The assessment will relate to how UNAIDS has met its core objectives and its mandate for an internationally coordinated response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. ITAD and HLSP are providing international experts including HIV/AIDS and governance consultants. Six regional partners will also collaborate in the assignment.
  Liaise with the UNAIDS secretariat and the UNAIDS Country Coordinators, provide quarterly reports to the Oversight committee. Support the core team and country evaluation teams, liaise with six regional partners, manage all contractual arrangements with consultants and partners. Arrange country visits and maintain financial records. Support the Quality Assurance process ensure that all reports are written in clear and concise English and that the Inception Report, Country Reports and Final Evaluation Report follow closely the UNAIDS/UNOPS guidelines.

  The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is one of the worlds leading organisations for research, teaching and communication on international development. It hosts a family of world-class knowledge services which aim to reduce global poverty and injustice by supporting more informed decision-making by those in a position to influence change. ITAD undertook the twin evaluations of MK4D and ELDIS.
  Designed, implemented and analysed the web based survey on the knowledge services.
2006 - 2007 Evaluation of the Japanese Social Development Fund (World Bank, USA, Indonesia, Uganda)
Team Member
  The evaluation of JSDF is reviewing the progress and development impact to date of the JSDF; to assess the achievements of the JSDF as a whole, and of selected grants, in the light of the Fund's objectives; and to make recommendations on ways in which the Fund might better achieve its objectives in the future.
  Involved in the design of the evaluation methodology (including semi-structured interview surveys, questionnaires & web based survey); conducting stakeholder interviews; field visits to Indonesia & Uganda; analysis of surveys & case study information; and, key contributor to inception, interim & final reports.
2005 - 2006 Review of the German Quality Improvement Grant (WFP & BMZ (Government of Germany) , UK)
Data Analyst
  The German Quality Improvement Grant is a competitive grant scheme that has been running since 1998. It provides funds for WFP Country Offices and Regional Bureaus, to help improve the quality of their operations. This review assesses the relevance and appropriateness of the fund, the effectiveness of its use, and managerial issues of efficiency. It also considers the partnership and agreements between BMZ, GTZ and WFP.

2005 - 2005 Evaluation of the European Training Foundation (European Training Foundation (ETF), UK)
Survey Coordinator
  ETF contributes to human resource development, labour market reform and the development of vocational education & training (VET) systems in four regions. ETF also provides a range of expert policy advice services to support the European Commissions external policies.

2005 - 2005 NRSP Communications Synthesis Study (Department for International Development, DFID, Uganda, Bangladesh)
Consultant
  DFID is commissioning several synthesis studies to learn lessons as its Renewable Natural Resources Research Strategy (RNRRS) comes to the end of its 10 year cycle. This research project examines whether the communication strategies put in place by 6 of the programmes have made a difference and what can be learnt from them about improving research outcomes. The project looked at 20 projects from three countries with the intention of producing mini case studies for each project and developing an evidence based framework for DFIDs renewable natural resources research
  Main Inputs: Literature review, conducting and managing the evaluation studies in Uganda and Bangladesh.
2005 - 2005 Review & Development of M&E System (International HIV/AIDS Alliance, , United Kingdom)

  The Alliance is an international non-governmental organisation that works in partnership with local NGOs/CBOs across the world, providing support to communities in their response to the AIDS epidemic.
  An ITAD team designed the new monitoring and reporting system for Alliance partners worldwide. Main input: Re-designing and editing the New Reporting Guidelines.
