ITAD develops communication strategies using people-centred, empowering and participatory processes.
End users of information are seen as active participants in developing the messages and there is an emphasis on using local knowledge and involving marginalised groups in the process.
Communication strategies are more than dissemination strategies as they account for the complex, dynamic and non-linear context in which communication takes place and shared information evolves with the process, rather than being a pre-determined message.
Communication strategies are awareness raising, learning and sharing of information which empowers people to make informed decisions.
