Policy processes

Theoretically, a government's policy process is structured logically: a policy is developed, costs and priorities are examined and following implementation, the impact of the policy is assessed.

Actual practice tends to be more disorganised: evidence may not be duly considered and the needs of groups such as the rural poor can be overlooked in policy-making.

ITAD supports evidence-based policy through strategic analysis, facilitation of workshops and stakeholder events. We also develop monitoring and evaluation systems that stress the participation of stakeholders and linking of information to national processes.
